Local foundation forges relationships with, secures finances for, nonprofits

Originally posted on Lake Norman Publications, the Peninsula Community Foundation (PCF) has raised over $2.8M since 2001 to support North Meck nonprofits focused on education, health, and vulnerable populations. Their Havana Nights Gala fundraiser on Nov. 16 at The Peninsula Club will feature dinner, entertainment, and raffles, with proceeds benefiting local charities. Tickets: yourpcfgala.org.

The Gala “Theme” – An Origin Story

The article explains the origin of the "Denim, Diamonds and Dancing" theme for an annual gala organized by the PCF Board. Post-gala discussions, while reflecting on the previous event's successes and setbacks, inspired the Western element of the theme, credited to the cowboy hat-wearing auctioneers. The "Dancing" aspect honors the band Brightside's performance, a regular highlight of the event. Despite being a somewhat common theme, "Denim and Diamonds" adds a semi-formal yet comfortable touch, encouraging guests to dress in upscale Western attire. The theme also aids in planning decorations, food, and games, with the board open to feedback for enhancing the gala's success, ultimately benefiting local charities.

April 2024 Stroll The Peninsula

The Peninsula Community Foundation (PCF) is featured on the cover of the April 2024 issue of Stroll The Peninsula! This all-volunteer organization has made a substantial impact in North Mecklenburg County, contributing over $2 million to local charities. In 2023, PCF granted $314,000 to 24 charities, including the Lake Norman Community Development Corporation and Hope House. For 2024, PCF aims to raise $500,000 to support over 30 non-profits. Little Smiles delivers Big Grins

Little Smiles Organization has been able to fulfill many technology wishes for children in local hospitals.

PCF Partnership Luncheon

This past week, we were able to gather 17 of our partners and board members for a luncheon in the Lakeside Room at the Peninsula Golf Club. Not only did they share a meal, but also encouragement and inspiration.
