The Peninsula Community Foundation (PCF) unites the neighbors of the Peninsula Community in Cornelius, NC to empower the work of nonprofit organizations. Founded in 2001, we are an all-volunteer organization that has contributed over $2,000,000 to local charities, making an enormous impact on the communities of North Mecklenburg County. PCF increases awareness of significant needs in the local community, and then brings the people, capital and ideas together to address the unmet needs of the young, poor, distressed, elderly, and handicapped in our community.
As neighbors and as a community, we believe we are stronger together as we help local nonprofits provide a better life to those in need in the Lake Norman area. In order to do so, the neighbors of the Peninsula Community, who make up the Board of Directors, carefully evaluate both the needs of the community and effectiveness of local charities. These factors determine which organizations get funded by the PCF, and priority is given to those charities that most effectively use PCF donations to achieve tangible, quantifiable results.
PCF is committed to helping local nonprofit organizations develop and expand not only through direct financial contributions, but with their entire mission. We work alongside them to increase marketing and PR, improve fundraising efforts, enhance volunteer recruitment, expand their presence in the community and improve their strategic planning and corporate governance. Our recipient organizations benefit not only from our financial contribution, but from the direct involvement of PCF Board Members, neighbors, and volunteers in the Peninsula and Cornelius community.
PCF is uniting a generous community. Take your first step in joining this community and help the Peninsula be stronger together as we empower the work of nonprofit organizations.
